I’ve always had a love for the water. When I was growing up, I spent countless hours swimming and skiing with family and friends on Lake Canton. My parents had a small cabin and boat and I watched my dad teach hundreds of family and friends to ski. Now I want to teach people that they can have even more fun under the water than on the water.
I can’t ever remember not being interested in fish and marine life. For most of my youth, I had a 10-gallon tank with tropical fish, and I hoped to be a marine biologist one day. Like many at that time, I was fascinated by Jacque Cousteau and his adventures under the sea. I lived for from the ocean and ultimately pursued a different career, but I always wondered about the possibility of diving one day.
IIn 2001 I planned to vacation in Maui, and after talking to a friend, we decided that we’d get certified together. While I enjoyed learning diving skills, I’ll never forget that first dive, hearing the sounds of whale calls echoing in the distance while exploring Molokini.
I continued to dive infrequently over the next ten years. After my week-long dive trip to Cayman Brac, I decided to focus on becoming a better diver and pursue a Divemaster certification. I’ve never looked back
Fortunately, I was able to get connected with the best dive shop in the southeast, Seaventures. They are an incredible training organization where you are surrounded by other passionate people who bring the excitement of swimming and scuba diving to as many people as possible. Their reputation for excellence is renowned, and it is why I asked to join their staff.
If you are interested getting certified, refresher training or dive trips, please get in touch. I’d love to be a partner in your pursuit of diving.
